Suncatcher Flower Farm is hiring flower crew positions for the coming 2024 season. We are a small, no-till, body powered organic cut flower farm in Brunswick, ME that specializes in cut and dried flowers. Our flowers are sold at a roadside stand, several wholesale markets, and the Common Ground Country Fair.

weekly/daily activities/responsibilities:

Crew members are expected to participate in all farm activities, which include greenhouse seeding and watering, field prep, planting and maintenance, harvesting, washing buckets & bulb crates, stand setup & breakdown, making bouquets and processing flowers (and more!). Prior farming, landscaping, and/or floral work experience is preferred. Must be able to lift 50lb., be on your feet for 6 hours straight, and have reliable transportation to and from the farm daily. We are looking for someone with good communication skills, ability to work independently and with a crew, be able to receive feedback, have a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.

Benefits:

You get to participate in the local agricultural community, supporting a small woman-owned business. Our farm is in the  Journeyperson Program which will allow you to have access to agricultural workshops and talks throughout the season. You will also have entry to the Common Ground Country Fair for the weekend and have the ability to work and enjoy the fair. During the season, work schedules are flexible as long as they are clearly defined at the beginning of the season and meet harvest and weekly hour parameters.

We are fortunate to be located on leased land next to a weekly thriving farmer's market, where you will have access to locally sourced food. The farm also has access to a great trail system.

What to expect from us:

Our crew is made up of women who work hard in the face of extreme weather & long days, who love to steward the land, play with flowers, laugh and get dirty. We work in a cooperative way, sharing ideas, plans, and expertise in order to be successful.

Season begins March 4, 2024 through November, 2024. 30 hours per week. Pay: $17+/hour depending on experience.
